Where you'll be
You’ll join the BusDev and MarCom division led by Sylvie Vandevelde and work in a collaborative environment with Dirk Vander Ghinst. We are committed to creating meaningful work together and supporting each other along the way.
Your challenge
As member of the business development team, you will (re)boost the relation and grow the business with our member and customer banks in Belgium and The Netherlands.
You’ll be responsible for fostering and maintaining strong, strategic partnerships with key banks that are integral to our ecosystem and product offerings. This position involves
• Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for our member banks, fostering strong, long-term relationships and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Represent Isabel at formal and informal events, conferences, and meetings to maintain and enhance personal contacts with key stakeholders.
• Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing relationships and new relationships.
Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement strategies that drive business growth and deepen our engagement with our banking community.
• Commercial Account Management:
Manage a portfolio of key bank relationships, negotiating contracts, and providing tailored financial solutions and services to meet the specific needs of each client.
Work closely with our product development, sales, and operations to have a full view of the bank needs.
• Ensure seamless communication and coordination between Isabel and the member banks, addressing any issues promptly and professionally.
• Market Insight and Strategy:
Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to provide valuable insights to both our company and our member banks.
Contribute to strategic discussions on market expansion and positioning, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.
Job requirements
How to be successful in your new role:
• You need at least 5 years of experience in a commercial role, and you have experience working with and selling to banks
• You have a strong advantage if you have worked with or sold to a variety of banks and regulated institutions: large banks, small banks, local subsidiaries of international banks and FinTech’s
• You have been in a quota-carrying role with a (revenue) target of at least 10M€
You will need to speak the right ‘language’ to convince and influence your counterparts. Essential skills to communicate with all stakeholders are
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. You speak Dutch and/or French for a typical Belgian/Dutch negotiation or customer meeting (ie, a mix of all three languages where most people express themselves in the language they are most comfortable with)
• Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships with clients. Sensitivity to risk and the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with banking relationships.
• Exceptional organization skills and a strong work ethic
• Solid technical understanding of ‘bank grade’ solutions, either through experience or a technical education
• Networking is in your DNA, you have, or you know how to build a network quickly in the Belux bank community
• You enjoy commercial management of complex solutions with long sales cycles (+12 months)
