What you’ll do

 

As a Software Development Team Lead, you’ll help drive the evolution of our Open Banking solution, one of Isabel’s key strategic initiatives. You’ll contribute to the delivery of high-quality software that meets the business requirements while keeping the cost of future enhancements under control.

You’ll be responsible for the whole delivery of a set of initiatives, starting with requirements from Product Management all the way to the deployment in production; you’ll bring mentorship and a collaborative mindset, balancing long-term vision with real-world impact.

Your tasks will include: 

 

  • Estimate & plan all work; lead & participate in the resolution of bugs and incidents

  • Provide transparent status reporting & budget management

  • Adhere to the software architecture & security guidelines, define integration strategies & design patterns and propose enhancements for improved scalability, reliability & performance

  • Lead code reviews & enforce best practices to maintain high-quality code and reduce technical debt

  • Promoting test-driven development and automation best practices 

  • Collaborating across teams to ensure seamless integration 

  • Advocating DevOps practices: CI/CD, observability, automation

  • Mentoring teammates and contributing to technical excellence

  • Oversee deployment processes; prepare, plan and coordinate releases 

  • Communicating clearly with leads, architects, and stakeholders 

  • Mentor, coach and motivate the development team to enhance technical skills & career growth

  • Contribute to performance reviews, recommend promotions, job rotation and succession planning and play an active role in the onboarding of new hires

Job requirements

What makes you a great fit 

We’re looking for someone who combines technological & functional expertise with good interpersonal skills to gain the trust of your team (technical experts and payments specialists).

You’ll thrive in this role if you: 

  • Have solid experience with the life cycle used in a software organization and a good understanding of software & release delivery 

  • Build scalable, testable systems using proven design patterns 

  • Apply TDD and automated testing to ensure code quality 

  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders 

  • Have a first experience as a Team Lead

  • Have experience with Agile methods

  • Document, mentor, and collaborate with clarity and intention

  • Stay curious, self-driven, and open to continuous learning 

  • Have practical experience with Jira

  • Are fluent in English and either Dutch or French
