Payroll Team Leader

As a Payroll team leader you take responsibility for monitoring, coordinating, and carrying out the payroll and HR administration activities within Human Resources (to contribute to the realization of the HR objectives of the organization.

Your role

  • Take responsibility for the operational daily management of payroll and HR administration activities if required, with external partners to ensure that the best results are achieved for the department cost-efficiently and with a high quality and according GDPR requirements.
  • You supervise and motivate your team to optimize and develop their skills and expertise.
  • Take responsibility for the administrative processing of all information (from line management) that relates to the payment of wages and salaries to ensure that the correct and timely payment of wages can be safeguarded.
  • Calculate wages, holiday pay and sick pay to ensure that wages and payments are correctly and fully paid.
  • Liaise with Insurances on affiliations, set up & maintain personal contributions in payroll.
  • Liaise timely and accurately with Facilities Department on driver switches and contract ends of the company cars, adapt payroll accordingly Co2 emission.
  • Solve and follow up issues regarding personal files to ensure that the best possible service can be offered to internal customers (= employees).
  • Ensure the preparation of employment contracts and amendments to the employment contract.
  • Maintain existing personnel management systems to ensure that we have correct and full information for all types of contracts (interim, employee, contractors)
  • Supply information to and answer questions from internal employees to ensure that employees can be supervised and informed.
  • Maintain contacts with interim offices to ensure that information related to specific files can be exchanged quickly and efficiently.
  • Plays a part in the introduction of new staff (explaining the house rules, procedures, and the use of HR applications, etc.).
  • Providing to line managers, HR colleagues, unions, finance all documentation, advice, support, reports, study regarding his specific HR field. (Social law, fiscal regulations, and Comp& ben)
  • Drawing up and continuously improves digital procedures, tools, internal forms, etc. according to social and fiscal regulations.to guarantee an efficient management of personnel administration.
  • Act as an internal specialist and formulate recommendations regarding payroll-related topics to ensure that line management is exhorted to implement an HR policy in accordance with regulations and legislation.
  • Recommends projects and strategy about HR programs and initiates and implement various projects within his specific HR field. (Personnel Administration, Compensation & benefits and, communication)
  • Update and maintain the professional knowledge and technical skills to maximize the own professional knowledge and to apply it within the organization in the best possible manner.
  • You have 1 direct report & will report directly to the CHRO.

Your profile

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in payroll
  • You have excellent knowledge of Belgian social and labour legislation & Belgian taxation regulations regarding wages.
  • Good knowledge of payroll Software and eblox is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of at least one of the national languages and English.
  • No member of the works council but provides the necessary information on demand of the other HR colleagues. Gives ad hoc advice to the works council.
